Ring in the New Year

My Lovely Family (from left) - Craig, Maxwell, and I
I can hardly believe it's nearly Christmas and the New Year is upon us. While the holiday season signifies something unique for everyone, for me, now is a time to reflect upon the wonderful blessings in my life. Many things come to mind - my amazing family, our cuddly cats, irreplaceable friends, and my growing photography business. I feel so fortunate to be able to do what I love and actually make some money at it, which is one of the greatest gifts I could ever ask for.

With that being said, I want to take a moment to send my gratitude to all of my clients from 2010. I have thoroughly enjoyed recording your lives through photos of your newborn babies, birthdays, wine country celebrations, charity auctions, weddings, and precious family moments. My business would not exist without your support. And every photo session I do inspires me to be more creative. Thank you for that opportunity.

From my family to yours - we're wishing you all a most joyful holiday and prosperous 2011.

Autumn Details in Clayton

Here are a few shots I took with my new 105 mm macro lens. I love the detail of close-up photography. These image were taken at the Clayton Valley Pumpkin Farm. They have every variety of pumpkin you can imagine as well as a lovely greenhouse/garden area.

Dolcetti - Artisan Italian Cookies

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of photographing (and sampling!) a new line of Italian nut cookies by Chef Daniele Carsano, Owner of Boccondoro in Walnut Creek.
His gluten- and dairy-free nut cookies come in four flavors of natural deliciousness - macadamia coconut, pistachio, almond, and hazelnut chocolate.
These cookies are handmade with quality, local ingredients, and they are so worth the calories. Keep your eyes out, as Dolcetti cookies are coming soon to East Bay farmers markets. Mangia!

Handcrafted Wedding Album

I photographed Allison and Jonathan's destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, earlier this summer. As a gift to them, I wanted to create an elegant wedding album with a scrapbook feel. Their colors were yellow and coral, so I choose a contemporary cloth, Newbury Mango album by Kolo.

To visually tell the story of their special day, I filled its 40 archival-quality white pages with their wedding invitation, followed by 58 carefully chosen 4" x 6" professional lustre prints.

To finish off the cover, I tied a sterling silver heart charm to the ribbon. I also added a string of delicate freshwater pearls through the binding to add the element of the ocean.

I hope it is a gift they treasure for many years to come!

Allison and Jonathan's Wedding

Last month, I photographed a gorgeous beachfront wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the Velas Vallarta resort. It was a wonderful event for a fantastic couple whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for a  few years now. Here's to wishing Allison and Jonathan a life full of happiness and love!

Cindi and Carlos

Here are some of my favorite shots of Cindi and Carlos from their recent engagement session. They are a special couple who have their love for each other and their Harley-Davidsons in common. I had a lot of fun working with them, and I'm looking forward to photographing their June wedding in Oakley, California. Congratulations again, Cindi and Carlos!

Baby Kenzo

Born February 8, 2010, Kenzo Adan Glenn-Sharp was just 7 days old in these photos. He was so alert and happy for his first photo shoot which took place at home with his mom, dad, and grandma. Congratulations to the Glenn-Sharp family on their handsome new baby boy!
